Approaching the Upper Jasper SkyTram Terminal

As you ascend toward the Upper Jasper SkyTram Terminal, the view unfolds in panoramic slow-motion-a cinematic reveal of jagged peaks, sweeping valleys, and the silvery ribbon of the Athabasca River winding below. Inside the spacious, red cable car, floor-to-ceiling windows surround you, creating a suspended discomfort, with nothing but fresh, cool alpine air and the promise of elevation. The climb takes about seven minutes, during which you’ll feel the gentle hum of the cable and the shift in altitude as vegetation gradually thins and evergreen trees give way to rocky ridgelines.

Moments before docking, the tram glides above a rocky ledge, offering a stunning near–360° vantage: pristine talus slopes on one side, and on the other, the vast expanse of Jasper National Park, studded with distant mountain ranges. As the cabin slows and grips the braking cable, you catch sight of the terminal’s rugged timber-and-glass structure perched on its rocky outcrop. The doors slide open, and a wave of crisp, clean air rushes in, invigorating and clear-an instant reminder you're more than 1,000 meters above the valley floor.

Stepping out, you find yourself on a broad, weathered boardwalk that juts out toward the horizon. The platform provides sweeping views down to Jasper townsite, across dense subalpine forests, and over a landscape sculpted by glaciers and rivers. The approach to the Upper SkyTram Terminal is nothing short of cinematic-arresting, immersive, and quietly majestic. Book the Jasper SkyTram
